Avcom SMT, Inc. can apply two different conformal coatings using two different processes in order to seal and protect electronic assemblies and boards from humidity and harsh environmental conditions. The first method utilizes Cytec CE-1170, an acrylic coating, hand-sprayed onto boards in our professional spray booth. This method is ideal for short runs of boards where 1-3 mils of coating meets requirements and have few parts that require masking. The second method utilizes Dymax 984-LVUF, a UV curable coating, which is applied with our Nordson Select Coat spray machine. The programmable Nordson Select Coat machine applies coating only where it is needed, thus eliminating the need for masking. This process is ideal for large runs of boards, quick turn runs, or when a thicker coating is required. Both coatings contain a UV Tracer for ease of inspection.
